One person has been injured following a landslide at Taman Idaman in the Serendah Subdistrict of Selangor State in Malaysia on Saturday 26 November 2016. The landslide swallowed part of a main road throught the area, taking with it a food stall parked beside the road and ten vehicles parked around it. The injured man has been identified as Mohamed Fareez, 21, a motorcyclist who broke his leg in the fall and who is being treated at Selayang Hospital. Local authorites have evacuated about 340 people from 60 homes within ab area of 600 m of the incident due to concerns that the area is still unstable. These people are being housed temporarily in a local school.

The incident happened amid heavy rainfall in the area and is reported to have been caused by an underground waterflow that washed away sediments beneath the road. Selangor State is located on the West Coast of Peninsula Malaysia and has a wet tropical climate with high rainfall all year round, though is does have distinct seasons with higher rainfall in the Northern Hemisphere winter and November is considered the wettest month, with an average of 260 mm of rain.
